Meet Me at the Future in Review (FiRe)
Let me know if you’re attending in October at the Terranea resort in Palos Verdes, CA. If so, we can meet up. If not, think about attending. It's a great event and worth your time.
Let me know if you’re attending the Future in Review (FiRe) conference October 20-23 at the gorgeous Terranea resort in Palos Verdes, CA. If so, we can meet up. If not, think about attending. Based on my experience, it’s a great event and worth your time.
Update: Oct. 6, 2024. Because of the state of emergency in Palos Verdes, the conference has been postponed, with a date to be determined.
The annual conference, produced by Strategic News Service, provides a strategic and forward-looking view of technologies such as advanced AI, climate tech, chips, the industrial metaverse, security, healthcare, and more. FiRe caps attendance at 200, which promotes accessibility to speakers and the exchange of ideas. There are many opportunities to talk one-on-one with industry leaders around “the future of technology, the coming bifurcation of the world economy, and how countries and states can improve their economies while fostering innovation and prosperity.”

My Participation at FiRe
I first learned about FiRe in 2013, when a representative from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation reached out to me to attend. I went again the following year, and then for the following conference, the chairman, Mark Anderson, invited me to do an on-stage interview with Ken Goldman, then Yahoo’s CFO, on the subject, Function and Dysfunction on Silicon Valley Boards. In recent years, however, my professional commitments left me little time to attend. That’s now changed with my retirement from employment this year and refocus on my industry coverage. So, I look forward to reengaging with Mark and his team. I hope to see you there.
Registration is now open at the Future in Review website.
